We are here!

Although I haven't been a fairy-tale-ending kind of girl since about midway through college, I guess I've spent most of my twenty-seven years playing a long game of license plate Bingo, travelling around, seeing what I can see, and hoping someone will soon declare, "We're here! Let the adventure begin." I was sure the declaration that I was "Now entering THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, population you and him" came alongside this:

And, it did!

Kind of.

Although it's quite like mine (minus un-torn cuticles, plus a little more crook in the pinky/pinkie finger and a little more length in general), that hand doesn't actually belong to me. It's my baby sister's. I always knew she would be the first to marry in our family. She isn't disappointing me.

You see, the day I decided to put on my big girl pants and start my own life sans husband, she put on some warm clothes, went for a hike, and got herself a husband (I guess at this point he's just a fiancé) to do life with. So, I've been thinking that my grown-up life started with just the thing I was always sure it'd start with--just on a different hand, one not so unlike mine.

Congratulations, Kellen and Jake! I can't wait to see how you do life! (And when you ever use that crème brûlée set you registered for!)
